The Dallas Stars’ Big Move: Leaving Network TV for Streaming

The Dallas Stars have ended their partnership with Bally Sports and are moving their games to a new streaming platform called Victory+ through a seven-year deal with A Parent Media Co.

Key details:
– All Stars games not on national broadcast will be available on Victory+
– Dallas is the first major men’s sports franchise in the U.S. to switch local broadcasts from a regional sports network to a streaming service
– Victory+ will be a free, ad-supported service, offering 100% of Stars content to fans

Brad Alberts, the team’s president and CEO, expressed excitement about the move, highlighting the innovative and unique streaming experience Victory+ will provide for sports programming.

Previously, the club’s local broadcasts were aired on Bally Sports Southwest, formerly known as Fox Sports Southwest.

The Stars are joining a trend, with other NHL teams like the Vegas Golden Knights, the Utah Hockey Club, and the Florida Panthers also pursuing different broadcast agreements outside of the Diamond Sports Group.

Overall, this shift to streaming demonstrates the Stars’ dedication to providing fans with a new and easily accessible way to watch their games.
