Elon Musk Begins Foreclosure on Gene Wilder’s Former Home Over Loan Issues

Elon Musk has initiated foreclosure proceedings on a home previously owned by Gene Wilder due to unpaid loan payments by Wilder’s nephew, Jordan Walker-Pearlman.
– In 2020, Musk sold the Bel-Air property to Walker-Pearlman and his wife for $7 million and financed $6.7 million of the purchase.
– A notice of default was filed in July after the couple fell behind on payments. The notice allows for sale in 90 days.
– The couple has now listed the property for $12.95 million and asserts they are cooperating with Musk, who has not been adversarial.
– Walker-Pearlman explained that the recent Hollywood strikes contributed to their financial struggles, leading to their decision to list the house.
– Musk originally purchased the home for $6.75 million in 2013, stipulating that the home should be preserved in honor of its former owner, Gene Wilder, who bought it in 1976 for $300,000 and passed away in 2016.
