LA 2028 Olympics Introduces Five New Sports, Excluding Breaking

The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics have decided to exclude breaking (break dance) from their program and have introduced five additional sports. Each Olympic organizing committee can add between zero and five sports beyond the official agenda, with Tokyo 2020 previously adding karate and Paris 2024 including sports like surfing, climbing, and skateboarding.

Here are the five new sports selected for LA 2028:
1. **Baseball/Softball**: Making a comeback after its last appearance at the 2008 Beijing Games.
2. **Cricket**: A widely played sport globally, particularly in India, returning to the Olympic roster.
3. **Flag Football**: A non-contact variant of American football.
4. **Squash**: A racquet sport making its Olympic debut.
5. **Lacrosse**: An indigenous sport in North America resembling hockey played with a stick and a net.

These choices reflect a blend of traditional and emerging sports, with many others having been cycled in and out of the Olympics historically, such as tug of war, croquet, and polo. The inclusion of these new sports highlights the evolving nature of the Olympic Games.
